About the Role

A&R (Artists and Repertoire) Manager is responsible for discovering and signing new musical talent, guiding the artistic development of signed artists, and working closely with them to create commercially viable music. This role involves scouting new talent, managing relationships with artists, and coordinating with other departments to ensure the successful release and promotion of music projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Talent Scouting:

Identify and evaluate emerging artists, songwriters, and producers across various platforms (live performances, social media, music streaming services).

Artist Development:

Develop and maintain strong relationships with signed artists, understanding their creative vision and career goals. Provide artistic direction and support throughout the recording process, ensuring the artist's vision is realized while maintaining commercial viability.

Project Management:

Oversee the production of music projects from initial concept to final release.
Collaborate with producers, songwriters, and other creative professionals to create high-quality recordings.
Coordinate with marketing, promotion, and distribution teams to ensure successful releases.
Market Analysis:

Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging genres, and market demands.
Analyze the commercial potential of artists and projects, making data-driven decisions to guide artist development and project direction.
Contract Negotiation:

Negotiate recording, publishing, and other related contracts with artists, managers, and legal teams.
Ensure all agreements are in line with company policies and industry standards.
Collaboration:

Work closely with other departments (marketing, PR, sales, digital) to develop and execute comprehensive strategies for artist promotion and career growth.
Foster a collaborative and supportive environment within the A&R team and across the company.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in A&R, talent scouting, artist development, or a similar role within the music industry.

  • Strong understanding of music production, songwriting, and the creative process.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Passion for music and a keen ear for talent.

  • Strong network of industry contacts and a deep understanding of current music trends.
